Want to quickly get your CSV data into a SharePoint list? Most platforms offer a CSV export for leads, event rsvps, contact info you name it. Although you can copy and paste data from a CSV file into a SharePoint list, unless the columns in your CSV file are in the same order as your SharePoint list—there may be a bit of manual work required.

Automate that shit.

In this video tutorial I’ll show you how to build a Power Automate flow will take a CSV file of event RSVPs and import it into a SharePoint list. Save yourself a ton of time by creating this automation so that you can quickly import any CSV file from a specific Document Library right into a SharePoint list.

Ensure that your CSV file is saved in CSV format, NOT as CSV UTF-8 format. Some platform CSV exports are in CSV UTF-8 format which means you will need to open up your file in Excel first and save it as a CSV first before you can use it in your flow.

An ideal workflow shouldn’t require you to manually manipulate your data. With this automation you can choose which columns you’d like to import into your SharePoint List. Most CSV exports from platforms include many columns of data. Don’t worry about hiding or deleting those columns. Just import what you need!
