So unexpectedly, I acquired another National CS-1803__ series which is a part of my childhood. Well, this is actually the 3rd unit I acquired, the 2nd one was a manual fan split, and I no longer have it because I've sold it to a flea market. And now you must be wondering, for what did you have 3 of these? Is one unit is not enough? Well, here's my answer.

I was looking for a broken National CS-1803/2403__ unit to take some parts from for my National CS-1803KH restoration needs. I need to replace some parts on that unit such as the air swings, the purifying filters, the electrical cover (actually not an important thing as it was unseen when the front panel was closed, but my OCD won't stop me from doing that 🙃), get plastic bolt covers from it (as I explained and revealed via text at 04:55 - 06:39), and lastly the parts that I decide to not to show in the video (for duration reasons) are the water tray and the evaporator's earth/grounding wire. The original water tray that came with it has a broken hanger, and the original earth/grounding wire has been cut (which is also actually not an important thing because again, it was unseen and the water tray would hang just perfectly when the casing was installed. And the earth/grounding wire can be just simply re-connected instead of replacing it). That's the reason why I acquired 3 units of National CS-1803__.

But why now you only have two left? Why did you sell the 3rd unit? Well, there is another story, and I'll be explaining it just quickly because I don't want my description box to get too long like a novel (🗣: is that so??? 🙃).

So back in 2023, I acquired the fan split unit first (with no evaporator of course), and I got the air swings from it. And that unit was a 1803KC, precisely this one. A few months later, I found another broken unit in dead condition for sale somewhere in Bandung and asked the seller to ship it to my area. And I got plastic bolt caps, a water tray, an electrical cover, and a grounding wire from that unit. And that unit was a 1803KH (just like my 1st one) dated May 1997.

Okay, you may be wondering again, because I said the 1803KC was the fan split, but how come it can have an evaporator in this video? The answer is, I've done a lot of swaps between the 1803KC fan split and the broken 1803KH 🤠. The fan split unit was a manual (as I stated before in the 1st paragraph) because it no longer has the original computer unit, and I only took the air swings from it because the water tray has more cracks, even the 1803KC's original case has a crack and a missing light indicator cover. Meanwhile, it has a much better chassis condition compared to the broken 1803KH. While the broken 1803KH has much worse chassis condition due to some cracks and a lot more yellowed surface areas, but it has much more complete parts that I still can use such as an evaporator, computer unit, water tray, etc. What I am doing is basically swapping the functions between the fan split unit and the broken dead unit. So now the 1803KC becomes a complete AC coil unit in dead condition (as you're now seeing in the video), and the broken 1803KH becomes a manual fan split. I also swapped the case because as I stated before, the 1803KC's original casing was in a worse condition, so I decided to take the broken 1803KH's original case to be utilized in the 1803KC. What a complicated process, isn't it? 😵‍💫

That's the story of what has happened to those units. Now, I am gonna explaining of what next plans I'll be doing to this dead unit. I was planning on selling this dead unit again right after I took all of the parts I needed from it, but then I refused that plan and decided to keep it. I'm gonna try to fix the computer unit, and I've figured out too that some of the resistors in the computer unit were corroded. That was the highest possibility that made it stop working. Also, a cockroach has gotten inside this unit before (back when its identity was a 1803KH), reproducing, and yet died inside the unit. I found a lot of cockroaches' eggs the first time I opened the case, even the cockroach's bad smell stings straight away when the case was opened 🤢🤮. So cockroach is probably the highest possibility that makes this unit dead.

But eventually, a miracle came to this unit right after I was done taking this video. Are you wondering what miracle is it? Stay tuned for the next video!

Happy fasting everyone!
