Air New Zealand NZ8041 : Flying from Auckland to New Plymouth

It's time to fly once again. This time, I'm flying Air New Zealand to New Plymouth on their 12 years old Bombardier Dash 8 Q300, ZK-NED. This was the first time that I've travelled on this aircraft. I have flown a Q400 in the past.

As SkyBus recently launched from Albany mall, we decided to try it (only $2 return pp at launch). We checked in at the domestic terminal of Auckland Airport and just waited until boarding. The plane was parked at Gate 50 which was the furthest gate from the regional boarding area. I settled in Seat 9A and the plane pushed back shortly after before taking off towards New Plymouth. Only water and cookies were served since it was a very short flight. The plane approached and eventually landed before parking at Gate 3. The airport was very small and the rental car counters were right there waiting for us. After getting our car, it was time to explore the beauty of New Plymouth! I hope you enjoyed the first trip report for this season :)
