Uttar Pradesh MLA Nahid Hasan was arrested by the police in Shamli on Saturday in a case filed against him under the Gangster Act. He was then produced before the court.
Earlier, the Samajwadi Party had named Nahid Hasan as its candidate from Kairana in the upcoming UP election.
