How ImperialHal, Genburten and IGL ZER0 Flew too close to the sun and received an unrecognizable last place finish (20th) in the finals at LAN in Mannheim Germany - a tournament we expected them to win! Team Falcons in Apex Legends have undoubtedly built a superteam. Expecting the three most accomplished players in Apex Legends History (outside of Reps) to perform at the highest level is too high of an expectation. However, is it a motivating one? You could argue that all of these players have already fought hard enough in their careers that they no longer have anything to prove - and yet ironically they find themselves with everything to prove after their Split 2 playoff performance. Known as a LAN team and a Spotlight performer, Falcons usually clutch up when the moment is brightest. This time in Mannheim, it was very different. The META was an issue, putting newcastle into play at the highest of levels which would take even the best pro players at least a month to master. Now, on the backfoot in the game and uncomfortable with how to adjust, Falcons are left with picking up the pieces with their worst LAN performances in recent memory in the finals. Can they rise from the ashes like a phoenix and take over Champs? You may doubt them now, but this feels like a team that finally has that chip on their shoulder they need to prove the doubters wrong. We'll see!
