Grandma loved her neck bones, not just because they were affordable, but because they tasted amazing. She had plenty of recipes for neckbones but here’s her simple one:

1. Grab a pot, add a little oil, and set it to medium-high heat.
2. Add a pack of neck bones and sear them on each side for 3 to 4 minutes.
3. Add one chopped onion and four garlic cloves, fresh sage then season as you like.
4. Pour in enough water/broth to cover the neck bones. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium/simmer for 2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
5. To thicken the broth, make a cornstarch slurry: mix 1 to 2 cups of cold water with 2 to 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, one pack of Lipton onion soup mix to the slurry, mix well then pour it into the pot.
6. Add your potatoes and cook until they’re tender. Season to taste and serve with your favorite bread. Add hot sauce for an extra kick! And there you have it Grandma's neck bones and potatoes for the win
