CRAIG HOPE: Mick McCarthy says he probably will not want to leave Republic of Ireland if he is successful but has accepted Stephen Kenny will be taking over after Euro 2020. The 59-year-old was unveiled here at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday afternoon after signing a two-year deal to return as manager, 16 years on from leading the country to the World Cup second round. However, his arrival coincided with confirmation that Dundalk boss Kenny will be taking charge of the Under-21s before stepping up to the senior job as soon as Ireland's Euros campaign expires, a bizarre twist which many believe undermines the new man.
