John, a reclusive farmer in the Australian outback, lives in quiet grief after the death of his wife. His isolated routine is disrupted when he finds Tahmeena, a frightened Afghan woman who has escaped from a brothel where she was held against her will. Despite a language barrier and mutual mistrust, John offers her shelter. As they slowly build trust, sharing work and unspoken pain, both begin to heal. When danger from Tahmeena’s past resurfaces, John must confront his fears to protect her, and together they face an uncertain but hopeful future.
