The german version is a lot closer to the original japanese script, and does not take countless liberties - heres my translation of it so people can get a closer understanding what the developers intended:

Bahamut:
Chosen king! Strengthen yourself! Prove yourself worthy of the crystal, however my test takes patience.
Remain in this room. Reflect on yourself and collect light in your ring so that the evil can be driven away.
When enough time has passed you will together with the other old kings of Lucis, banish the lord of darkness.
Then the crystal will help you to free the planet of the demons that put this world into darkness, in exchange for your life.

Noctis:
What? I should die? No one told me that!
Hey! Let me out! Let me out of here!

Bahamut:
Are you ready to give your life to banish the darkness?
Never!
I accept my fate.

10 years later...

Bahamut:
You are now imbued with light and you have also been blessed by me. Turn back to your throne and banish the darkness. Give the world back its light.
