If we heard these words somewhere in real life,
we would either not take them seriously
or think that the person saying them has mental issues.
However, in George Orwell’s 1984, these phrases
are written on the streets, on buildings,
and broadcast over the radio throughout that universe.
What’s more, the people living there do not find these slogans strange at all;
on the contrary, they fully accept them.
George Orwell’s famous novel 1984, which presents us with a pitch-dark world, is one of the greatest examples of the genre we call dystopia.
Orwell, who was also a journalist,
closely observed ideologies such as communism, socialism, and fascism
that were gaining influence during his time,
and turned these observations into a gripping and thought-provoking story.
The strong historical foundation behind the novel
makes it both realistic and deeply terrifying.
Even today, we can see disturbing similarities
to the frightening political system described in this book.
This novel, which makes the reader feel tense, frightened, saddened,
and most importantly, forces them to question,
has an incredible depth.
And the topic of this video is
