Making an Envelope Style Pillow Cover with Embroidery

Описание к видео Making an Envelope Style Pillow Cover with Embroidery

This is my process for making a personalized pillow cover with an envelope style closure. It has embroidery with applique' and a quilted front. I personalized a pre-purchased design and that video can be found here:    • Adding Text to a Design in Bernina De...

Instructions for pillow cover:
Measure pillow from seam to seam to get the size front you will need. I make my pillow cover the exact size of the pillow.
For instance:
If pillow form is 18" my cover front will be a finished size of 18"x18".
For the back:
The back of the cover is made in 2 pieces that will overlap forming an 'envelope closure'. To make these, I take the pillow size and divide by 2 and add 5". Ex; 18/2=9, 9+5=14 so you will need 2 pieces of fabric 14" long by the width of the pillow which in this example is 18". Fold one long edge 1/4" twice, press and stitch. Place right sides together lining up raw edges and either serge or stitch with a zig zag stitch. Sew and trim corner and top stitch for a beautiful finish.

Pillow Insert used: (I ordered 20x20 but they measured 19.5 x 19.5 so it's important to measure before making your cover so the form fits snuggly)
