Democratic Labour Party’s Ryan Walters and Friends of Democracy member Karina Goodridge are at State House today to be sworn in as Opposition Senators.

The two, who were appointed at the discretion of the President of Barbados, are among those present for the swearing-in ceremony. Walters returns to the Senate, having previously served as a representative of the Democratic Labour Party, while Goodridge, president of the Friends of Democracy, will be serving in the Upper Chamber for the first time. The Friends of Democracy emerged out of the Democratic Labour Party.

Their appointments come after uncertainty over who would fill the final two Opposition seats in the Senate.
