Nobody escapes—death will meet every person. When and how it will happen remains a mystery. Many believe that the timing is influenced by what we came to do and how well we accomplished that goal. When we finish our mission on Earth, we depart. But what if we don’t finish?

In our daily lives, it’s easy to become distracted. The societal norms of connecting through our phones, for instance, often distract us from fully engaging with our own lives. When we take the time to connect inward, we can differentiate our true voice from the noise around us. Understanding ourselves increases the likelihood that we can fulfill our soul's purpose, which may or may not appear as a grand destination from our human perspective.

Some people believe that we choose the moment we are ready to leave this world. If it is a choice, I don't think it's a conscious one. From our human perspective, much of this remains unknowable. Perhaps our soul recognizes when we have strayed from our true path and experiences a sense of hopelessness. It may believe that we will learn valuable lessons about ourselves through the process of dying instead of through living, which may be why some people leave here slowly, through a lingering illness.

Much remains unknown about death. It could be that the way we die is less a result of our time on Earth and more about breaking a cycle from previous incarnations that our soul could not escape. Alternatively, it might be a selfless act designed to teach those left behind about loss and sorrow.

This is not a judgment. We are all here searching for meaning and purpose in life. However, we cannot fully uncover what is meaningful to our souls until we listen inwardly. While we may struggle to find clarity while living, it often becomes clearer as we approach death.
