I have an unpopular opinion. 😊 Alright. So. Americans love culture. Culture is a production. Its produced. Its not quite a thing until there's enough eyes on it and then rules. And. We all stand in line for merch. There's some ridculousness. We nod and agree and it continues. But..with anime. It was the story that mattered more than the culture. More. Than politics and panels and fourchan of why this matters. Commentary and detail killed a lot of the way the artfulness of anime was consumed. It couldn't be story. It had to look like a cutscene from a PS5 game. It had to also have the essence of Pixar. So. Many smaller studios and stories couldn't be told. Because. Politics and culture deemed them unworthy. Anime was an extension of cartoons. The small stories that made us by sugary cereals and $50 plastic toys that had "karate chops" and "kung fu grips." Not. Now. So. Thats where we are and thats why I just don't care about "how this or that should be..." Pinky out.
