The ‘Stenosphere’. What do we mean?
Currently, there is no word to represent the airspace where most drones take flight. As companies associated with this technology, we need to be generating conversations at a lower, everyday airspace level, to accelerate drone solutions to problems experienced by companies and people alike.

The term ‘Stenosphere’ was created by Airwards to define a new tranche of the atmosphere within the already defined Troposphere. The word is taken from the Old Greek meaning narrow, strait, close by.

With the ‘Stenosphere’, our mission at Airwards is to create a recognised place for drones in the airspace ecosystem, in order for drones to be accepted and fully adopted.
