Medal for Bravery #27246 

Made of solid silver and enamels. The medal measures 37.13 mm in diameter and 2.96 mm in thickness. The height of the medal measures 41.78 mm (including the eyelet) and the medal weighs 29.6 grams without its suspension. The suspension measures 25.24 mm in width at its narrowest point and 31.37 mm at its widest point.

The medal is in excellent, well above average condition, with most details still visible and fully original enamel in the lettering. Both sides show some dings and scratches, but none that detract from its overall appeal. The connection ring has been cut, and the Mondvor screwplate is correct and fits well. The silver-plated brass suspension is authentic, including the original plate with ‘teeth’ that holds the ribbon in place.

Brief and specific description of personal combat feat or merit:

On April 28, 1942, he took part aboard an SKA vessel in a landing operation.

From April 28 to May 13, in the frontline area near Zapadnaya Litsa, he displayed bravery and courage, working under mortar and artillery fire during ammunition transport and evacuation of the wounded.

He skillfully repelled enemy aircraft with machine gun fire, showed personal initiative, and led other sailors in unloading ammunition, evacuating wounded, and delivering supplies.

He provided first aid to wounded soldiers of the 12th Separate Naval Rifle Brigade.
