For this fight you need to get 2 of the spines he casts on players that are not currently "tanking" him.
First spine: summon you'r army of the dead and let them pull the boss, once you'r impaled wait untill the last few seconds and spam the spine itself to pick it up just before it disappears.
Seconds spine: summon you'r normal ghoul and let him take over the tanking when the shield drops off, same thing for picking the spine up again.
You can heal yourself during the shield phases with Deathstrike it will not generate threat since you'r not actually doing any damage, rune of the fallen crusader may generate some threat but i'm not 100% sure about this.
Once you have the 2 spines you can proceed with killing him the normal way.
