Red Eye Squirrel Channel Description

When I was a child, my dad used to tell us a bedtime story of “Red Eye Squirrel,” a squirrel that possessed magic powers from his magical, red eye. Red Eye became a friend and a rescuer to children and animals who found themselves hurting, in danger, abandoned, threatened, injured, and lonely. His and my hope is that many other children will enjoy these adventures come to life on video as much as my sister and I longed to hear them when my dad was home putting us to sleep for the night. The following was written by my father as an inspiration for these amazing adventures:

Red Eye Squirrel began as an idea borne from my own life experiences in many ways. I wanted to be able to create entertaining stories solely from my experience and imagination that my children, grandchildren, and others might enjoy. I’ve always enjoyed telling stories anyway, so this seemed natural, and I could create stories on-the-spot just keeping true to a few specific characteristics and abilities that Red Eye possessed.
I wasn’t sure at first what character that I should ‘create,’ but I knew that almost all children (and adults) can relate to familiar animals. I was watching a squirrel at play one day, and it occurred to me that a squirrel would be a great character…non-threatening, familiar, cuddly, cute, etc. But I also wanted to imbue the squirrel with special powers, specifically powers that could help children and other animals who were facing difficult challenges, threatening or dangerous situations, fear, abuse, abandonment, hunger, etc. Calling upon situations from my own childhood as well as incidents I had witnessed first-hand as a police officer, it wasn’t difficult to think of meaningful and, hopefully, interesting stories.
