Schooling Handsome and Tigre

We recently got a fancy new camera and mic! It's been a while and we were in dire need of an upgrade. So enjoy!

In this video, Pat rides two VERY different equines. The first is our 16+ hand TB gelding, Handsome. The other one is our 14 hand mule, Tigre. He's the new guy around here. Even though these animals are vastly different, the goal of collection and riding off of our bodies is still the same. We've noticed lately with some of the folks who send us videos of their rides that they are missing out on the concept of collection. The only way for a horse to properly balance the human on his back is to put himself into a frame that raises up his back, compresses his body length, and shifts his weight to the hindquarters. The lifting of the back also enables the horse to more clearly "hear" what the rider's seat is telling him. So as you watch this video, keep all of those points in mind.
