So much to be said about Nobody (2021). The easy thing to do would be to compare it to its contemporary, John Wick, but to do so would be a severe oversight. It's like the movie was made for me. With the beautifully shot montages, slo-mo and otherwise, set to the backdrop of classic songs by Andy Williams and the like. My god, and the inclusion of one of the coolest cars ever, The 72 Challenger. It's self aware and not pretentious. A celebration of what it means to be a father, a husband, and a man. The sacrifice associated and the search for deeper purpose and meaning. Depending on if it's something you like or not, it's a case study on great pacing and cutting out superfluous details that end up making every movie over 2 hours these days. Huge fan of Bob Odenkirk, and he really knocked this out the park. Easily best movie of 2021 for me. With hints of a sequel, who knows? I suspect, perhaps, in the future we might see John Wick x Nobody universe.
