Visit one of our houses and let inspiration spark from a moment, a story, or a historic object. Rest assured you are just many walking in the footsteps of history. Each year these historic sites host nearly 100 thousand visitors and it’s our mission that the infrastructure is in place to support visitation and the educational programs that reveal the incredible stories each site holds. Nearly a third of these visitors are children. Our houses have become satellite classrooms that put hands on action into local curricula with tangible results. Over the past 30 years, the Historic House Trust has accomplished remarkable achievements but there is always more work to be done. Historic houses require constant vigilance, maintenance, stabilization, and restoration in order to protect these precious assets for generations to come. Our generous supporters, board members, chairs, staff, and volunteers have worked together to better our houses and strengthen HHT’s operation with an eye towards the future. Their work is incrementally built on the organization's success over the last three decades and forged an identity with lasting impact on the mission and work of HHT.
