Hose Attaching

Описание к видео Hose Attaching

New generation Bethlehem Burners flame-working torches have been upgraded to include B-fitting hose connections directly on the torch valves! This allows flame-workers to easily attach T-grade hose connected to their gas or oxygen tanks directly to their torch in the safest way possible. This also provides flame-workers with the ability to remove their hose from their torch without cutting or damaging the hose. This is excellent for flame-workers who travel with their torches or for flame-workers that need to send their torches in for servicing.

To attach T-grad hose to your Bethlehem B-fitting connections, simply line up the hose B-fitting with the corresponding fuel valve and thread it into place. Once the brass B-fitting cannot be tightened any further, use an 11/16 wrench to gently tighten. Check your connections by spraying soapy water onto the hose connection and turning on your O2 and gas while keeping the valves on the torch closed. If you see bubbles form, there is a leak and the B-fitting connections need to be tightened.

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN YOUR HOSE CONNECTIONS and DO NOT USE TEFLON TAPE ON YOUR THREADS.

The air tight seal created by B-fittings, comes from the alignment of internal tapered parts and NOT from the threads. By over tightening the connections, the internal tapered parts will mash together and become deformed. Once the internal parts become deformed, they can no longer create an air tight seal. If teflon tape is added to the threads, the alignment of the internal tapered parts will be compromised, causing the parts to not line up properly and cause leaks. Also, the teflon tape can tear and segments of the tape will travel into the torch and get lodged inside the barrel of the torch, requiring a very expensive factory repair.
