Welcome back to the "Start Your Home Lab!" series! The foundation is built, and the time has finally come to put our lab to work. In this video, we are deploying our very first application: SearXNG, a private, self-hosted metasearch engine.

What is SearXNG? It's your very own private alternative to Google. It gathers results from over 70 different search services without tracking or profiling you. By self-hosting it, you take full control over your search privacy.

We'll be deploying SearXNG as a "Stack" in Portainer, which uses a Docker Compose file behind the scenes. This is the standard, best-practice way to deploy multi-service applications, and I'll show you just how easy it is.
