This is a performance in 2022 of the title track from my 2005 album project, "Trust the Water," accompanied by Lisa Hannah and the band at the Center for Spiritual Living Nashville. This is one of my older songs, but one that has remained in my performance repertoire over the years.

I was fearful of the water
The only faith I had
Was in the arms of my dad
But how I longed to join the others
And have the fun that they were having
But to make it mine
I knew there would come a time
I'd have to learn to

Trust the water​
I'd have to learn to let go of the side
'Cause only by drifting free
Would I ever see
Everything's alright
As long as I could touch the bottom
I’d never know just how it feels to fly
So finally I let it go
For whatever followed
If only I'd trust the water

As a man I feel the stirring
Of my deepest heart's desires
