Very hard to find Messerschmitt KR200 Cabin Scooter loaded with all the favored options! Finished in delightful two-tone Turquoise & White with Yellow & White interior! With most manufacturers going towards the World War II effort by switching to building military equipment, the exact opposite happened for specialty builders after the war had ended. In the case of the Messerschmitt aircraft manufacturer in Germany, they we prohibited from building aircraft for 10 years after the war. Their facility would be temporarily converted to building the Messerschmitt Kabiniroller, or Cabin Scooter, through the design and guidance of aircraft engineer Fritz Fend. Fend was the sole brainstorm behind the project, and by using the now quiet production facility in Regensburg, Germany to build the unique 3-wheel scooter, forced him to use the Messerschmitt brand. Officially called the RSM Messerschmitt-Werk (Regensburger Stahl- Und Metallbau GmhP), these delightful scooters offered post-war buyers a small, efficient scooter with a closed cabin design and occupant capacity for 2 adults! Plus, a remarkably efficient Fichtel & Sachs engine provided excellent fuel economy and performance powerful enough to propel these scooters up to 62mph!

The body was constructed entirely of steel, with a rigid frame, and a fully enclosed floor. All three wheels had suspensions that operated independently for a smoother ride. Early units produced from 1953-1955 were called KR175's, using a 173cc 2-stroke single cylinder engine. Later improvements made way for the enhanced KR200 model using a larger 191cc single cylinder engine, along with front fender wheel cutouts, shock absorbers at every wheel, bigger tires, and an improved canopy for easier entry! These KR200 models sold from 1956 through to the end of production. An Export Package included 2-tone paint, fully trimmed interior, dash clock, heater, hubcaps, and a sunshade visor on the curved front windshield.

A striking color sequence offering a bright and fun appearance as it motors down the road! This example was fully restored in approximately 2006 with all new paint, new interior upholstery, freshly chromed brightwork, new rubber seals, all new wiring, new fuel tank, straps, & hoses, fuel cutoff valve, new Cushmann 4.00-8 whitewall tires, interior floor mat, Hella headlamps, new brake cables, Sachs SuperTouring shocks, engine gaskets, and more! It is equipped with all the options you desire including an electric windshield wiper, working Kotter dash clock, turn signals, windshield visor, tinted acrylic panoramic canopy, Plexiglas sliding side windows, folding rear seat, map pocket, rear luggage rack, and chrome rear bumper!

The engines were equipped with two sets of contact breaker points, so the engine can be started in forward or reverse offering the 4-speed transmission movement in either direction. This unique dual-mode ignition was triggered by the key switch to determine which direction you wanted to go, you just had to make your decision with the engine in the off position first. Our example runs and drive wonderfully, and has been a hit among our staff taking turns using it in the parking lot for some sunny day fun. It is easy to say that no one was without a huge smile on their face, whether watching or from behind the aircraft style yoke steering handle! It will be delivered with a reproduction book that comprises an owner's manual, technical data, service manual, and more. A splendid example that will be an instant highlight to any collection! Hard to find on the market, and will be even harder to replace!
