🎨 Installing Peel-and-Stick Watercolor Wallpaper Over Paneling | Wayne, IL Project

Thinking about using water color's peel-and-stick wallpaper—but worried it won’t last or look good over paneling? This one’s for you.

In this video, Dave and Chad from D’Franco Painting & Wallpaper show how we installed a watercolor peel-and-stick mural over old paneled walls—with excellent results. ( we usually are not a fan of peel an stick but his product is pretty good!)

🧱 Here's the secret:
We first applied lining paper (a thick wallpaper underlayment) over the paneling to bridge the grooves and create a smooth surface. Then we installed the mural using a high-quality, repositionable peel-and-stick product that:
✔️ Has great pattern alignment
✔️ Doesn’t stretch or bubble
✔️ Has low odor
✔️ Doesn’t smear or fade when smoothed
✔️ Can be repositioned during install

This project took place in Wayne, Illinois, and we’ve installed wallpaper for this homeowner a few times—she always picks unique, stylish designs!

👍 Final verdict? Even though we’re usually not fans of peel-and-stick wallpaper, this brand earned our respect.
