Welcome to an outdoor adventure in a reclaimed ironstone quarry covering 19 acres of railway tracks, nature trails, and exhibitions. Rocks by Rail is a journey back in time.

There’s plenty to do:
– Explore an old industrial landscape and on Open Days take a trip in one of our trains.
– We have diggers on display and an original cab from the giant Sundew excavator.
– Our Exhibition Centre contains our collection of Steam and Diesel locomotives and there are interesting dioramas of quarry workings.
– Visit the Woolsthorpe Workshop where we are restoring old locomotives and wagons.
– If you fancy a stroll then our Nature Trail is just the ticket and yes four legged friends welcome too but we ask for them to be on a lead for their safety.
– And when you’ve done all that, how about cuppa in our Sundew Cafe with a slice of cake or one of our tasty bacon cobs.
