Pluribus season 1 follows romance novelist Carol Sturka after she becomes one of the few people immune to a virus that transforms humanity into a collective, "happy" hive mind. The season chronicles her attempt to survive and find a way to reverse the "Joining" after witnessing the outbreak, which happens after a lab replicates an extraterrestrial RNA sequence, and the death of her partner, Helen. A White House official eventually contacts Carol, explaining that the virus isn't a disease but a "psychic glue" meant to bring everyone together, and that the hive mind wants to assimilate the few remaining immune individuals. From the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul Vince Gilligan and the series stars Rhea Seehorn.
