We trekked down to mysterious meteorite Lonar crater. Lonar Lake is a natural saltwater lake formed 52,000 ( According to NASA 5,76,000) years ago due to a meteorite impact. The lake is saline, alkaline, and supports diverse microorganisms. Many scientists, researchers, and tourists from various foreign countries visit here compared to Indians. Lonar Lake is also mentioned in Skanda purana and Padma purana and surrounded by many temples and archaeological sites.
