Ugandan Asians: 50 years on since expulsion | ITV News

2022 marks 50 years since ex-President Idi Amin ordered the expulsion of all Asian Ugandans from Uganda.

Many South Asian people were brutally killed, while many more were displaced, making Britain their new home.

In this special documentary, presented by ITV News Central Correspondent Rajiv Popat, we hear from those forced to leave their homes, those who lost loved ones and those who saw their friends, neighbours and families subjected to humiliation and horror.
