We take in 4000+ years of history, in this two part pocket history. Glimpses into the ancient past = a Roman Sarcophagus = Medieval to Tudor era's "using the history of Barking Market." Into the 17th century, & the founding of Fairlop Fair by Daniel Day, & the Fairlop Oak. Then off into a 1930s kitchen "hearing memories from the 1870s of that fair."

Then into wartime Barking & Dagenham = with a 1940s living room experience "hearing radio broadcasts" + having to dash outside & into an Anderson shelter "as part of our wartime experience."

Then back into our own era = with the modern day Barking Market = Meeting Diane, one of the lovely page members "at Valence House Museum Christmas Market." Looking back & hearing a 1930s message to us "the future" taken from the book of Barking. & we end off our pocket history = with our own nod to the future.
