Oregon's Bay Area centers on the city of Coos Bay, situated on the shores of the estuary of the same name that stretches for nearly 12 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. While staying right at the Charleston Marina RV Park, less than a mile from the mouth of the bay, in this week's Grand Adventure we check out the cities of Coos Bay and Bandon, glimpse at Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, explore the five coastal Oregon State Parks including hiking at Shore Acres and the Coquille River lighthouse at Bullards Beach, learn at the Coos History Museum and Charleston Marine Life Center, and go kayaking at the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve.
