Welcome to our YouTube channel! In this DIY video, we will guide you through the process of making an adorable baby frock with a stylish collar and button placket layer. This project is perfect for beginners and promises to create a charming and comfortable outfit for your little one. Let's get started!

Materials Needed:

Soft and breathable fabric of your choice
Coordinating thread
Buttons (2-4 depending on preference)
Scissors
Measuring tape
Sewing machine (optional)
Step 1: Taking Measurements
Begin by measuring your baby's chest, waist, and length from shoulder to desired hemline. Add a seam allowance of 1 inch to each measurement.

Step 2: Cutting the Fabric
Using the measurements obtained, mark and cut the fabric for the frock's body, collar, and button placket layer.

Step 3: Creating the Button Placket Layer
Take the front part of the frock and mark the button placket layer area. Cut along the marked lines, leaving a margin of 1 inch on each side. Hem the edges of the button placket layer.

Step 4: Attaching Buttons
Position the buttons on one side of the button placket layer and sew them securely in place.

Step 5: Assembling the Collar
Fold the collar fabric in half lengthwise and stitch the edges, leaving one side open. Turn the collar right side out and press it flat.

Step 6: Attaching the Collar
With the frock's neckline facing up, align the collar's open edge with the neckline and pin it in place. Sew the collar onto the neckline.

Step 7: Assembling the Frock
Place the front and back pieces of the frock together, with the right sides facing each other. Sew the side seams, leaving room for armholes. Hem the bottom edge of the frock.

Step 8: Adding Finishing Touches
To enhance the look, you can add decorative elements such as lace, ribbon, or appliques.
