This workshop was jointly organized by the CREATE WITH MOBILE, Mobile Journalism Community in Bangladesh, Daily Purbokone and YPSA.

Instructor - Dr. Jamil Khan

Dr. Kabil Khan (Jamil) is an assistant professor of the University of Liberal Arts
Bangladesh. Previously he worked as specialist of Mobile Journalism at Prothom Alo
in Dhaka. He was a senior Lecturer of new media of the department of mass
communications of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. He is the founder of
Mobile Journalism Institute which is an online platform for learning Mobile
Journalism. The concept of practicing of Mobile Journalism was first introduced in
Bangladesh by Mr. Khan through Prothom Alo. His experience with making visual
stories shooting entire news package on his Samsung Galaxy Phone 6.3 and iPhone
6s plus. He participated world’s first mobile journalism conference held in Dublin in
2015. On July, 2016, Mr. Khan conducted a 3-day workshop on Mobile Journalism
with reporters of Prothom Alo. So far, he has empowered 184 journalists of Prothom
Alo who are now producing visual stories with only Smartphone. Khan’s MoJo works
were featured, broadcasted & printed by television, Social Media channels and
newspapers in Bangladesh, USA, Russia, UK & many other countries. He has a

Instructor - Sabbir Ahmed
Sabbir Ahmed, a passionate and dedicated mobile journalist, has been using
smartphones for storytelling purposes since 2014. During this time, he introduced
mobile video content (padma bridge construction) coverage in banglanews24.com in
2014 with guidance of Alamgir Hossain - Pioneer of Online journalism in
Bangladesh.
He worked at banglanews24.com. Afterwards, he switched to barta24.com and
currently he is working as a senior correspondent at sarabangla.net.
He has considerable expertise in publishing news just after capturing and editing
videos during that time through mobile phone, presenting news in visual or
broadcasting news whenever required.
Sabbir is the first drone user with mobile video contents in Bangladesh. Using the
latest technology in Journalism or adapting to the current world is the type of
journalism he loves to work with.
He has enormous competency in using sophisticated tools for mobile phone use as
well as various techniques for capturing video images of mobiles and apps that make
the picture useful for publishing video news.
He regularly works with the latest tools in mobile journalism and keeps track of the
technology that comes out in mobile journalism around the world.
