I am a lady born and raised in Tucson, AZ, and only experienced the Grand Canyon once when I was like 12, so I don’t remember much. I have however never experienced the Page, AZ area, which has been on my bucket list for many many years. I don’t know why it took me so long since I live in the same state, but this past week I was finally able to check that off my bucket list, yay! We started our trip in Phoenix, where our friend Randy lived so we could be 2 hours closer to Antelope Canyon which was our first stop. I always like to celebrate my trip the night before so we stopped by the Canal Club in Scottsdale and AZ88. Both are such cute, aesthetic spots, I would definitely go back. Then the next morning, we woke up at 5 am and headed for Antelope Canyon. I napped about halfway so when I woke up we were already in Flagstaff. We decided to go with Ken’s Lower Antelope Canyon Tours. We went with the Lower Antelope Canyon because it was $50 cheaper and it was more explorative and adventurous. Steep staircases and narrow canyons made it much more exciting. My favorite part was the texture of the walls and the softness of the sand. I literally could not stop touching it, it was so fine it almost felt like nothing. Our tour guide, Savlyn, I think was his name, was excellent. He helped educate us on the creation of the canyons and some Native American, specifically Navajo, education, which really interested me. I want to read a book that talks more about the Navajo story. He also knew all the good picture spots, so you already know we were VERY grateful for that. We then had lunch in Page, AZ, and headed to Horseshoe Bend for sunset. One word, BREATHTAKING! The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s so much more beautiful in person. From there we drove 3 hours south through the Grand Canyon National Park. That was so peaceful, the moon shone so brightly and the stars twinkled more than I had ever seen before. We planned on going straight to bed but TikTok had other plans because we stayed up until midnight recording & perfecting two TikToks😂 TikTok link down below to see them! Also, I wanted to mention our Airbnb was so perfect. Affordable and gave us what we needed, a shower and a clean place to rest our heads. Then the next day we woke up at 5 am and drove to the Grand Canyon to watch the sunrise. It was sooo peaceful. The Grand Canyon makes you feel so small but in a good way like your worries aren’t that big because her grandness reminds you how small they are. I almost froze because I’m used to 80-degree weather, but it was worth it to watch the sunlight slowly light up the whole canyon. After, we hiked the South Kaibab Trail, which took us to the Oh-Ah Lookout point. The hike down was easy, but the hike up was such a good workout and felt so good after sitting in a car so much. Definitely a good booty workout too! From there we said one last goodbye to the Grand Canyon, grabbed lunch at Yavapai Tavern, and headed home. Such a much-needed trip out experiencing all the beauty mother nature has to offer. Be sure to like & subscribe to tag along on my next adventure! xo
