SSU SUCCESSFULLY HOSTS MARKA-E-HAQ 3RD POLICE EXTREME HANDGUN CHAMPIONSHIP - 2025

In observance of Defence Day, the Special Security Unit (SSU), in collaboration with the International Police Organization (IPO), successfully organized the 3rd Police Extreme Handgun Championship 2025 at SSU Chowkandi Headquarters on 8 September 2025. The championship witnessed widespread participation from across Pakistan, showcasing exceptional marksmanship, discipline, and coordination at an international standard. Distinguished guests included senior and retired police officers, dignitaries, and representatives from multiple law enforcement agencies.

The event was conducted under the leadership of DIG Security and Emergency Services Division, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, and featured four categories: Law Enforcement Personnel, Civilians, Women, and Law Enforcement Agency Teams.

In the Law Enforcement Agency Team Category, Intelligence Bureau, SSU (SWAT), and ASF (Islamabad) secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively.

In the Law Enforcement Personnel Individual Category, Sheraz Akhund (SSU), Abdul Rahman (ASF), and Amir Khan (Sindh Police) achieved the top three positions.

In the Civilian Category, Fazal Subhan, Emmadul Haq, and Nadir Ali claimed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

In the Female Category, Tayyaba Zafar (SSU), Nimra (SSU), and Samina Bibi (ASF) demonstrated remarkable skill, securing the top three ranks.

The championship saw participation from 59 civilians, 49 law enforcement personnel, and 6 female competitors, highlighting the growing popularity and inclusivity of shooting sports in Pakistan.

Addressing the participants and guests, DIG Security Dr. Maqsood Ahmed emphasized that the championship reflects Sindh Police’s dual mission of maintaining law and order while fostering positive sporting activities. He noted that the collaboration with the International Police Organization (IPO) provided a global standard to the event, further enhancing professionalism and coordination among participating teams. The SSU continues to set a benchmark for excellence, serving as a model for law enforcement units nationally and internationally.

The championship not only provided a competitive platform for law enforcement personnel and civilians but also strengthened police-community relations by promoting teamwork, trust, and shared values of discipline and excellence.

Ceremonial Highlights
Before the commencement of the championship, DIG Security and senior officers of the Security Division offered salutation on Defence Day. The ceremony included the hoisting of the national flag by Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, paying tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs.

The closing ceremony of the championship was postponed due to bad weather which will be scheduled later.
