Hoku is my second turtle and is about a year old. He is a northern diamondback terrapin (Malaclemmys terrapin terrapin) and favorite activities include chasing fish and finding ways to escape the tank, which he has accomplished twice, earning him the name Hoku Houdini! He is from @diamondbacks4life on instagram.

The convict cichlids (Amatitlania nigrofasciata) look really cool with their black stripes. They are pretty aggressive, fast, and smart, and this is what has kept them alive in the turtle tanks.

Prince is a veiltail betta (Betta splendens) and is rather personable, not to mention my only named fish at the moment! He swims up to the tank to greet me (probably for food) and I love his oranges and blues.

Okapi is a nerite snail (Neritina natalensis) with black racer stripes, and loves to munch on algae.

Nemo is my first turtle and a huge beggar. A typical male eastern painted turtle (Chrysemys picta picta), he loves to bask in the artificial sunlight, as well as eat anything that crosses his path. He was adopted from the mid-atlantic turtle and tortoise society, be sure to check them out!

Rocky is our 3 y/o mini schnauzer, adopted just recently. He loves chasing squirrels, playing tug-o-war, and just cuddling! HIs beard reminds me of an old man :P
