Charles Tournemire - Choral Allelujatique no.2 from l'Orgue Mystique - Viscount Ouverture

Описание к видео Charles Tournemire - Choral Allelujatique no.2 from l'Orgue Mystique - Viscount Ouverture

In the classical organ world, Charles Tournemire is mainly known through the transcription of his stunning improvisations by Maurice Duruflé. However, Tournemire left us a considerable amount of written compositions, among which the Orgue Mystique occupies a predominant place. It is a cycle of 253 pieces composed to accompany the liturgy of every Sunday and the major feasts of the liturgical year. The piece I play in this video is the Choral Allelujatique no. 2, the final piece of the suite composed for the XVII Sunday after Pentecost. Tournemire's signature harmonic language, often heard in Duruflé transcriptions, is well recognisable here.

I play this piece on my Viscout Ouverture, with romantic French voicing and a custom reverberation system.

Enjoy!
