Paradise to Reflections Lake, via the Golden Gate Trail, Mt Rainier, WA

What a hell of an adventure. We knew we would run into some snow (even in late July), but had no idea most of it would be ice. But, we were prepared. The Golden Gate trail from Paradise was probably the worse. The marmots were playful and very friendly. We didn't see hardly any other hikers. Once back on the Skyline trail, we ran into a couple who said they encountered a bear that was "too friendly" and it upset them a little. But, we headed down to the lakes and went the other way. The lakes were busy, as usual. But once we started our incline back to Paradise, we only saw 2 other groups. We didn't see many critters, but spring was definitely in the air. The wild flowers were amazing. But, if you want to see bears, the Skyline Trail to Mazama Ridge is your best hope. Enjoy. GOD Bless and be safe out there.
