The stone was found forming part of the foundations of a local house, and seems to have been trimmed at some point, resulting in the loss of parts of some of the symbols. The main symbol is of a vertical tuning fork, a relatively common Pictish symbol found carved on stones. Underneath it is another common symbol, a " crescent and V-rod. " Much more unusual are the carvings of a hammer, on one side of the tuning fork, and an anvil on the other.
