Surprise Hognose Babies

When we saw what waited for us in the incubator, we couldn't believe it. Our beautiful wild-type hognose snake has been hiding an incredible genetic surprise.

This is the second clutch of babies we've hatched, but the first clutch was just one perfect little boy. This clutch had 10 perfect babies, and this momma double-clutched, leaving another 14 eggs like these due to hatch in a month. We couldn't be happier with how this breeding season is going so far, and we feel so lucky to be able to do this.
