Lead Awareness with is October 22 - 28. A simple blood test is the best way to determine if your child has been exposed to lead. The CDC recommends follow-up actions to prevent further lead exposure when your child has a blood lead level at or above 3.5 micrograms per deciliter of blood. Some follow-up actions your doctor may recommend: Having your home tested for lead hazards. Feeding your child foods high in iron and calcium. Connecting your child to early educational services.
