How to Leverage OCI Document Generator Fn with Oracle Integration

In this video we will look at how to generate pdf documents with Oracle integration. There might be several scenarios, for example, where you are receiving orders and need to generate invoices, sales order pdf documents etc. Here you can leverage the Pre-Built Document Generator Serverless Function. It’s easy to deploy and you only pay for what you use so cost efficient.

The document generation relies on template Microsoft word file and either a JSON file or inline JSON payload that will contain the data we want to inject into the templates. These files will reside on the OCI Object Storage. The function then reads the JSON file and inject data from it into reserved spaces in the word file - generating a resulting PDF file. In this example we are passing the JSON data inline.

You can use Oracle integration as the orchestrator for calling the function, then retrieving the output file from object storage and finally emailing the customer the pdf file.
