How to Crochet the Railroad Rib Cap

Описание к видео How to Crochet the Railroad Rib Cap

All aboard! Thick and warm, the railroad rib cap will chase away the blustery winter winds. The fold-up brim doubles up to keep those ears nice and warm.

The railroad rib features the half-double crochet stitch And the secret to achieving this unique rib is all about the placement of the hook. However, in this video you will also learn how to shape the crown of the hat using an easy shortrow technique so the cap hugs the head ever so comfortably.

The railroad rib cap is the perfect complement to the railroad rib scarf. Both variations of the cap and two sizes for the scarf are included in the companion pattern Railroad Rib Cap and Scarf. Here’s the link: https://twistedyarns.com/patterns/rai...

The video tutorial for How to Crochet the Railroad Rib Scarf is at this link:    • How to Crochet the Railroad Rib Stitch

The demonstration uses 4.25 oz Caron Simply Soft Tweed – Heather Gray yarn and an H (5mm) crochet hook. This yarn is a little lighter that most worsted but you can substitute other worsted weight yarn. I find the stitch gauge is easily matched but the row gauge is a different matter. Since this pattern relies on the elasticity of the rib, I’ve included special notes about substituting in the companion pattern also.

Happy Crocheting!
