We sat in silence for a long time in that place, on the mount dressed in olive trees, having come at an empty time filled only by the birds’ singing. Around us the light was shifting and a litany unveiled slowly, like glimpsing a crack in a wall through the storm cloud-piercing dazzle. We let it flow until, called by the singing, the dwellers of that place came: The sky had fallen on Earth.

Sedemmo a lungo in silenzio in quel luogo, sul monte vestito di Ulivi, arrivando in un'ora vuota che soltanto gli uccelli riempivano col loro canto. Attorno a noi la luce mutava e una litania si svelava piano come una crepa sul muro intravista tra i barbagli che penetravano il nembo. La lasciammo fluire fino a quando chiamati dal canto, arrivarono gli abitanti del luogo: Il cielo era caduto sulla terra.
