roddymckoutdoors White Cart Way Walks are cook-trekking walkabouts around the White Cart Water wherein the Kingfisher waymarked White Cart Way follows a four-mile path from Pollok House in Pollok Country Park to Linn Park - essentially connecting the two large Glasgow Parks via various southside significant sites of interest and neighbourhoods.

This Walk2 visits the nearby Ashtree Park stones before entering Pollok Country Park. The stones are neither Ancient nor Historic having been placed there by the Council a number of decades ago! The Ashtree ‘apparition’ can also be seen.

The walk enters the Country Park from the Pollokshaws Road entrance that can alternatively be reached by First Bus customers using transport numbers 57 and 57A from the City centre - alight at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall opposite the Pollokshaws Road entrance to the Park.

Likewise, the McGills bus number3 (not First Bus!) destination Neilston, stops at the same stop as above mentioned .

Railway customers using the service from Glasgow Central station can alight at Pollokshaws West station - hardly a minute’s walk from the aforementioned entrance.

Pollok Country Park along the White Cart Way is a 146-hectare (361-acre) Country Park located between Shawlands, Crossmyloof, and Pollok in Glasgow, Scotland.
In 2007, Pollok Country Park was named Britain's Best Park and in 2008 was named the Best Park in Europe, beating competition from parks in Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Sweden.

Pollok Country Park is a known spot for wild mushrooms, particularly during autumn and winter - some of which can be seen in this video. Common edible mushrooms like puffballs (pictured in this video) and some types of boletes can be found in the Park along the White Cart Way. The Park’s woodlands are prime locations with their diverse tree species providing ideal habitats for fungi - some of which may be poisonous so never eat any mushroom you cannot positively identify.

The walk continues to the free-to-enter Burrell Collection where 6,000 years of art and history await exploration. Too tired to walk there? Then a free bus service from just inside the Pollokshaws Road entrance is available. The Burrell shuttle bus is a free, electric bus that runs in a circular route within Pollok Country Park, connecting the park's main entrance at 2060 Pollokshaws Road to the Burrell Collection and Pollok House. It operates daily from approximately 10:00 AM to 6:15 PM, with a 20-30 minute loop, and is wheelchair accessible

Cook-trekking in this Walk2 consists of Woodland Bacon Butties followed by, later in the day, Vienna Beef Frankfurters with Curryworst sauce.
