JANE EYRE READING

Описание к видео JANE EYRE READING

As a teacher of English in China, one of the courses I teach is a reading aloud lesson, amongst the different books we read aloud and discuss, is the classic "Jane Eyre" by the wonderful Emily Bronte. The story echoes many elements of Bronte's own life, especially her early life , and its always moving and meaningful to read. I love this novel very much, to help my student prepare for the reading exam, part of which entails them reading an excerpt from the book, I recorded this short passage for them to hear clearly the pronunciation etc . This is the scene where Mr Rochester is goading Jane into admitting she cant bear to leave him, it's both amusing in his impatiece to hear the words he wants her to utter, at the same time he really is a little cruel, bringing Jane to tears....Jane's final words in this scene are the most famous of the book, said "furiously" she just pours out her heart. It's wonderfully written and still a story which has much meaning for us today, hope you enjoy the short extract and maybe will want to read the whole book again......
