I've had this tune in my head for as long as I can remember. A favourite of my mother's that's probably been around me since before I was born, she loved to sing and often unconsciously hummed this beautiful tune. I'm a very intuitive writer and player especially where this one is concerned, I just followed the melody wherever it went and watched it incorporate a few different styles; folk; blues; gospel; classical; jazz? Where did those jazz chords come from?
