It's Saturday morning 4th May 2019, we take a walk in the wind in the village of Chignal Smealey. There are seven parts to the audio lasting eleven minutes, then duplicated to a last twenty two minutes as you study, sit reading a book or prepare a meal.

Yesterday, I was sitting in the university library on level one. It was hot, hardly any air and a friday afternoon. What else to tell, i was drifting off, yawning and was thinking of leaving. It was quite awful and getting to be a wasted use of time.

Then i placed in some earphones and listened to 'cricket club / the nature recorder'    • cricket club / the nature recorder   on my phone -- the most incredible thing happened, i was alert and awake and it was as if that stuffy library room was transported to a field near a wood in the countryside.

My head was full of bird song, chickens, pheasants and pigeons, the odd passing vehicle. Yet it mattered little what was on screen, after all i was reading and making notes, i could not look anyway.

Suddenly there was a total new world between the students i could see sat on desks and computer terminals discussing whatever assignment was impending. I started looking at the ceiling expecting white clouds and blue sky, of course there were none.

The video i had made was six minutes, yet that bird song and chicken discussion would last for hours.

This video is a next step to capture decent stereo audio, mix it to something true to what was heard on the spot while also layering sound to create something useful and pleasant to hear with headphones. It's only with a headset can you place objects in a 3d environment. That's why we have two ears is it not.

My mood was changed very quickly by changing what i heard. Try it :)

I designed the lead slide that's a simple reminder it's a listening task and not a looking one.
