Testing my self built guitar tube amp which is a Marshall JCM800 2204 clone.
Playing the song Enhjørning by DumDum Boys. I have no idea if the riffs I play are correct, they probably are not, I just jam along and play something that sounds usable to me.

The amplifier is connected to a Peavey 4x12" speaker cabinet and the sound is recorded with a Behringer b2 pro active microphone.
The audio recorded is mixed with the backing track with the guitar being as loud as it wont blend in making all my mistakes and the un-tuned guitar impossible to not notice. It is what it is.

I am using an Ibanez TS808 1979 overdrive pedal and a Fender reverb pedal but otherwise nothing has been done to the sound to change it after recording.

The TS808 pedal is set to full volume, tone is straight up at 12 o'clock, and drive is at 1/10.

Have used the amp for a few hours at this point and it looks amazingly stable even though the whole construction is screwed to the breaking point in terms of voltages and bias in the preamp and output tube.
When recording this video the EL34 power tubes has bias set to 79% (19.5 Watt) of max dispassion for EL34 (25 Watt) in AB push-pull with fixed bias. The plate voltage is 470 volts and the negative bias voltage on the input grid results in 42 mA plate current.
70% is considered the limit for max when using fixed bias in AB PP. That is if you want tubes that last a while and that it stays stable when in use.
But when the sound just gets better and better the 'hotter' you set the bias to the output tubes, it has to be tested a bit, I probably will set a lower bias after testing the amp for a while.

The amplifier has old and partially worn tubes installed now while it is being tested. This is because new radio tubes risk being destroyed if the construction is unstable due to my work in soldering it together.
But it looks good so far.

The band DumDum Boys was formed in 1979 as a punk band under the name Wannskrækk, before the members changed their name to DumDum Boys in 1985.

They are considered one of the big four in Norwegian rock.
